Economic and Technological Efficiency of Renewable Energy Technologies Implementation

Recent trends prove that energy production is shifting from traditional fossil fuel combustion technologies to renewable energy-based technologies. To estimate the economic efficiency of technology implementation, data for EU-27 member states during 2012–2021 period were collected; additionally, technological was analyzed based on a critical literature review. Breusch and Pagan Lagrangian multiplier tests employed select most suitable econometric model. The results suggest an increase in share sources by one percentage point (1) decreased CO2 emissions 0.137 metric tons per capita (technological efficiency) (2) greenhouse gases 13 g EUR, terms GDP (economic efficiency). Regarding Kyoto Protocol it found related decrease index. appeared be insignificant driver reductions emissions, while proved important models. Thus, increasing 1000 USD reduces 7.1 EUR EU-27. This paper also confirmed unit electricity (1 kWh) generated plants seven nineteen times more environmentally costly than generation. thus concludes digital transformations additive manufacturing brought about significant dematerialization industrial promotion household levels.
